We found out insurance would pay for me to do weight watchers... Can't really say no to that. I've been gaining a lot of weight since I got sick, it sucks. My ideal weight is so far off, it's past time to do something about it.
So last Tuesday, I went to my first meeting.
I weighed in at 228.0 pounds. Ouch. But anyway, each person is assigned a daily points target based on age, weight and height. Lucky me got 40. On top of the daily points, everyone gets 49 points a week to use, and you can get extra points by working out.
Not once did I hit 40 points this past week. Pretty proud of myself. Gone are the days of never ending junk food, and in are the fruits, veggies and healthy foods.
I spent the week trying to come up with things to eat to keep my belly, taste buds and energy level happy. I rocked this like a wagon wheel. Hopefully I'll expand on this later.
Anyway, today was my first weigh in. I'm down 5.4 pounds. I never felt starved or deprived. I ate when I was hungry, and ate till I was full. I didn't work out. I didn't change my daily habits. I just got smarter about what I was eating, and the pounds came off.
I'm now down to 39 points a day. Still completely reasonable. I hope to add in some exercise this week, but with a big project due Friday, its not looking promising. So I need to eat healthy, and possibly more healthy then last week... And get more pounds off.
155 lb is still in the distance, but I'm learning how to get there. So getting there I will.
